TEEN PROGRAMMING
What We Offer
Our teen programs are designed to support and challenge young people, ages 13–18, as they navigate high school and prepare for life beyond. We offer academic and career readiness, financial literacy, community service, and leadership opportunities that build confidence, character, and real-world skills.
Signature Programs:
- Career Launch: Explore careers, gain job-readiness skills, and connect with mentors. Teens learn how to land a job and plan a career path that fits their talents and goals.
- Money Matters: Build financial literacy with real-world applications. Learn to budget, save, invest, manage a checking account, plan for college, and more.
- Diplomas to Degrees (d2D): Get college-ready with personalized guidance. We provide academic planning, post-secondary exploration, and coaching to help you graduate and pursue your goals.
- Youth of the Year (YOY): A premier recognition program honoring teens who demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, and character. Participants join a leadership academy and compete for scholarships and ambassador roles.
- Volunteer & Leadership Opportunities: Teens can lead service projects, participate in Torch Club, mentor younger members, or join our Teen Leadership Council.
Meet Your Teen Team

Hi, I’m Michael.
I’m passionate about creating opportunities for teens to explore, lead, and express themselves through tech, music, and design. Whether it’s diving into a new project or supporting teens as they build something of their own, I’m always looking for ways to grow, connect, and stay inspired. In my free time, you’ll usually find me listening to a great playlist, watching sports, or working on something hands-on.
Howdy! I’m Brian.
I’ve had the privilege of working with the Boys & Girls Club for over 10 years. One of my greatest passions is helping kids discover and reach their full potential. As a former member of the Boys & Girls Club, I was fortunate to have staff who guided me through life, and now I’m able to give back by doing the same for today’s youth. Seeing them grow and thrive fills me with a sense of fulfillment that’s hard to put into words. When I’m not working, you can usually find me on a basketball court or planning a game night with friends.

Real Teen Voices
I love the boys and girls because it gives me plenty of opportunities to learn about different programs and opportunities to work/volunteer with the club and the youth.
I love the boys and girls club of Garfield because I got to meet new people, build new friendships, get new experiences everyday, and get to have fun/create new experiences with the youth.
I love the club because there are so many open doors for new experiences and connections.
The club has been one of my favorite programs to be in as a teen. Money matters helped me learn about my goals for the future.

Step 2: PURCHASE THE MEMBERSHIP
A membership is required to access Teen Programs. Don’t worry, it’s completely FREE. Head to the Memberships page in the Parent Portal to select and purchase the Teen Membership.
Step 3: GET PARENT PERMISSION
An active membership alone is not enough—your parent must complete a Parent/Guardian Permission Slip. Once we receive a permission slip for your registration, our Teen Programming team will activate your account. No teen will be able to have their account activated without parent/guardian approval.
